In the painting TINTED ROSE from the series "Crucified or just Blocked" by the artist Karin Döring, the clear geometric structure in turquoise and shades of pink on pink immediately catches the eye. These lines form a kind of wreath that surrounds the central element of the picture - a black and white portrait of a woman.

The woman's face is partially covered and can only be seen in outline, which triggers a certain mysterious aura. Nevertheless, her strength and self-confidence is unmistakable. The eyes are alert and penetrating, the lips curled in suggestion of a smile.

The colors of the background seem to interact in some way with the mood of the portrait. The pink symbolizes a kind of passion and intensity, while the turquoise exudes a kind of coolness and restraint. Together they create an interesting tension and give the picture a certain depth.

Overall, the painting is a fascinating portrait of a strong woman that invites the viewer to reflect on the meaning of confidence and struggle.

Gerhard H. Germany

I purchased one of Karin's first paintings a few years ago. It was a portrait that immediately spoke to me and captivated me. Since then, more of Karin's works have found a place in our home. I think it's great that she experiments, evolves her art, and thus stands out from other artists. With her special works from the HUMAN STRIPES series, she has definitely hit the mark. Keep it up and good luck 👍🍀
