GOOD GIRLS GO TO HEAVEN.
There's always a story behind Karin Döring's works. Essentially, there are even 3 stories: that of the artist, that of the portrayed person, and that of the viewer.
With the title of the work, Karin suggests a direction for her thoughts and the story behind the artwork. This is also why there are no "untitled" paintings in her art. Because the title is often determined before the first color reaches the canvas. Karin Döring always holds back with her story because she doesn't want to reveal too much in advance. And this is done quite deliberately, as it gives the viewer the necessary space to interpret her work with the help of a small hint in the form of the title so that it resonates directly with them. Because the viewer's imagination always springs from their own experiences and thus their own story. Every work thus begins with the story of the artist, but in the end, the story behind the painting is that of the viewer: yours. And that's what makes it so special and exciting.
A young woman with glasses sits between the spread legs of a man. Both wear distinctive tattoos. On the woman's right arm is her own portrait, as well as a heart on her wrist. On her left forearm is a tattoo of a wing with feathers. The tattoo on her right shoulder shows an Arabic script, a very personal dedication from the artist, which translates to: "In Love, Karin".
